There is a rule I have. If there is a place with a lot of pickup trucks in the parking lot at noon, go there. Located just up the road from Eastman Chemical plant, it's your basic quick burger/ dog/ salad, etc joint. Small room with 11 tables and 6 stools at a counter. Daughter and I both went with the Sloopy (made to order) cheeseburger (8 oz. vs. the regular 5 oz.) and it was truly outstanding. Saw someone with a chili dog with more ground beef in the chili that liquid. I nearly changed my order on that sight alone. Onion rings were darn near perfect. Want fish tacos? They have them. Burritos and quesadillas. Yes. They also have a 2 lb burger challenge. 8 oz. Burger was plenty.

The restaurant has a great nostalgic feel reminiscent of an ice cream parlor and burger joint from the 1950's. The food is always cooked to order and is one of the best burgers I've personally ever had. The portions are generous. The staff and owner are genuinely friendly and bend over backwards in the name of customer service. It's a great dining experience and family friendly. 10/10. My family and I love this place!
Sloopy’s in Kingsport never disappoints! The food is always fresh and delicious — especially the burgers and fries. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. It’s the perfect spot for a laid-back meal with great hometown vibes. Highly recommend!
Order at the counter experience. I ordered cheesesteaks which were very good for the price I got them at. Food didn't take too long to arrive. Place was clean. Neat place to eat at. Wish they had booths but whatever. Will def eat here again and have already recommended it to others
We get take out quite often from this diner and have never been disappointed. The people that work there are a great group of people that make you feel like family. If you're looking for a great place to try definitely give them a shot. Their hotdogs are the bomb, the pretzel bites are amazing and the Philly is delicious! Tell Matt we sent you! 😁
This was our first time at Sloopy’s Diner, but it won’t be our last. We thought the service was very friendly and accommodating. I felt like we got our food in a fashion and we thought it was great! Can’t wait to go back 👍🏼 The lady who took our order was great and made us feel very welcome. It was clear while we there that they treat their customers like friends.
Sloopy’s is amazing. When you walk in you immediately feel welcome. The manager is so kind that when we left my kids were talking about how nice “that guy” (Matt) was. I had the Chicken Philly Cheesesteak and it was delicious. My kids loved their kids meals. And to top it off they have delicious ice cream options for dessert.
Just wow! We were looking for a new fun place to eat. Didn’t want to spend a lot but wanted to sit and relax!! Don’t let the name fool ya!!! Sloopy’s was perfect! We enjoyed our lunch out side. Jeff got to bring back from his childhood memories “In & Out animal fries” lmao 🤦🏼♀️🤣 If you don’t know what they are ask for Max and he’ll hook you up!! Max was very knowledgeable of the menu items and was a sweet young man. Very funny and respectful! He even takes Jeff into ice cream after his lunch.. like that was really a hard sell though 😂
This place is AMAZING!! If you want nostalgia and good food this place is it. The staff are fun and know the menu. You won’t be disappointed. OH ALMOST FORGOT! Secret menu item TACO SALAD. 🥗 Thank my later!!
